1. What is Pictofy?

Pictofy is an AI-powered service that generates pictograms for visual schedules, communication, and educational use. The service is operated by Pictoday, CVR 30059891, Børkop, Denmark, with contact address support@pictofy.app.

2. Account, credits, and licenses

You can try Pictofy with one free generation without an account. To generate more pictograms, you need to create an account and purchase credits. Credits never expire and cannot be refunded after use.

Professional licences have fixed allowances shared by all practitioners on the licence: 1 practitioner receives 25 new figures per licence year and 500 images per month; up to 5 receive 50 figures and 750 images; up to 10 receive 100 figures and 1,500 images; up to 25 receive 250 figures and 3,000 images; the 60-seat municipal plan receives 600 figures and 6,000 images. Included figures do not cost credits. When an image or figure allowance is used, generation of that resource pauses. There are no automatic overage charges and personal credits are not used for overages. Extra capacity may be purchased separately by agreement: images apply to the current calendar month and figures to the current licence year. Unused allowances do not roll over. Existing materials remain available to use and print. Family has a fixed allowance of 100 credits per month; purchased credits are used beyond that allowance. The student licence has a fixed limit of 100 images per month. A technical limit of 120 images per hour per account also applies.

The starter pack (£19 in GBP, $19 in USD, €19 in EUR or 149 kr in DKK, one-off; currency is selected automatically by location or the market link used) includes one personal figure, two pictogram packs of up to 10 cards each, print-ready PDFs, 20 extra credits (on top, not deducted from the packs, never expiring) and shared, updated schedules for 30 days. Family always includes the starter pack. The annual subscription costs DKK 599 per year; a household that bought the starter pack within the last 30 days has it credited and pays DKK 450 for the first year. The monthly subscription costs DKK 149 the first month (the starter pack) and then DKK 69 per month; a household that already bought the starter pack does not pay for it again, and the remaining days of its 30 days of shared schedules count before the first month is charged. The starter pack’s contents are granted once per household. Family keeps shared schedules updated, gives room for two figures at a time (delete one to make a new one without credits) and has a fixed allowance of 100 credits per month with no carry-over; beyond that, purchased credits are used, a separate balance that never expires. When Family or the starter pack’s 30 days end, you keep files, prints, figures and purchased credits; shared schedules can still be viewed but no longer update. Recipients of a shared schedule need no licence to view it. Physical products are bought separately and require no subscription. Family is for private use and includes up to 2 child profiles. Professional use — e.g. in a clinic, practice, or other professional context — requires a Professional license (unlimited client profiles) or a class, school, or municipal license. Pictofy is not VAT registered. Displayed prices are final; no VAT is charged.

Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the paid period — cancellation happens from the account page. Existing credits are kept and can be used for generation again if the license expires.

Physical products are sold in packs of 2 sheets per material: cards 168 DKK, stickers 208 DKK and magnets 308 DKK, including packaging and delivery in Denmark. Multiple packs in one order share delivery; the total is shown before payment. An unpaired final sheet is supplied twice. Generation credits do not discount physical products.

3. Generated pictograms — license

Pictograms generated with Pictofy may be used in your own work with the children, students or clients in your care: visual schedules, communication support, teaching and therapy materials, prints for your own use. Private plans cover private use; Professional and institution licences include use in your profession.

You may not sell, pass on or redistribute the pictograms as products — not as files, as printed goods, in another app or library, in template packs, or on merchandise for sale. If in doubt, write to hello@pictofy.app.

Only generic pictograms generated from text with neither an uploaded image nor a personal character as reference may be featured in Pictofy's marketing, community gallery, or as examples. Pictograms based on uploaded images or personal characters will never be used for marketing or shared publicly by Pictofy.

4. Pictogram library

Pictograms in the library are free to download and use for personal and educational purposes. You may use them in visual schedules, communication boards, printed materials, and similar non-commercial contexts. Commercial redistribution, resale, or inclusion in competing pictogram libraries is not permitted.

5. Image uploads

When you upload a photo for the character feature, you consent to the image being processed by AI models to generate stylized pictograms. You confirm that you have the right to upload the image. Your uploaded photo is only stored as a character reference for as long as you keep the character — it is not used for any other purpose and is deleted when you remove the character or your account. The character builder is free to use and saves the character you approve. Photos are converted and restyled with Qwen in the EU/EEA. Pictograms and the starter pack are generated with GPT-Image-2.5-Flare on OpenAI using the image description and, where relevant, the saved illustrated character. OpenAI may process these data outside the EU/EEA. A cartoon character is not necessarily anonymous. Do not include personal names, contact details or sensitive information in descriptions. See the privacy policy for recipients, retention and transfers. Institutions remain subject to their signed data processing agreement and its subprocessor-change terms.

6. Prohibited use

You may not use Pictofy to generate illegal, offensive, or harmful content. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that misuse the service.

7. Not a medical or therapeutic device

Pictofy is a creative tool for making pictograms. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic service, or a substitute for professional therapy, teaching, or treatment. Pictograms from Pictofy may be used as a supplement to established visual-support methods (PECS, ARASAAC, Widgit, and others), but clinical judgment and adaptation should be performed by qualified professionals (speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators). We make no warranties about therapeutic efficacy.

8. Limitation of liability

Pictofy is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that the service is error-free or uninterrupted. Generated images may contain unexpected results. We are not liable for losses caused by use of the service.

9. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes are settled by the Danish courts, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
