Print the cards
A blank two-space board and six separate cards on one A4 sheet. Choose two cards and put the others away.
- Print the sheet. Cut out the separate cards; they are choices, not a six-step plan.

Questions about the material
What is a now-and-next board?
It is a short plan showing two activities in order. You can use it when a whole daily schedule is too much to keep track of.
How do I change the cards as we go?
For example: Now we put shoes on; next we play football. Once the shoes are on, remove that card and move football to Now. Add a new activity to Next only when you know what will happen. Explain the change and adapt the plan if help or a break is needed.
Does next have to be a reward?
No. Next simply shows the next agreed activity. Involve the person using the board in choosing it whenever possible.
Can we use it in a school?
Yes. The free sheet is for home and institutional use. Adapt the words and activities to the situation.
